Help with Ordsam, the dictionary for reading in another language.

Looking up words

On Translate, type a word and tap the send button. Type several words, one per line, to look them all up at once. Ask a question about grammar or usage the same way, and the tutor answers. Every word you look up is saved under Saved.

Quizzes and reminders

Quizzes need at least four saved words. Open Quiz, choose a quiz type, and tap Start quiz. With Let Ordsam plan my quizzes on (Profile, then the gear, then Quiz), Ordsam plans quizzes around the hours you usually practise. Turn on Quiz reminders in the same place to get a notification when a quiz is ready.

Progress and milestones

A word is learning once you answer it right and learned after three right answers. Stats shows your words, your answers over the last two weeks, your day streak and how far you are from the next milestone.

Text size and dark mode

Open Profile, tap the gear, and choose Appearance (System, Light or Dark) and Text size.

Your words on another iPhone

Signing in is optional. Sign in with Apple on Profile, and your words, quiz history and settings sync to your other iPhones signed in to the same account.

Export your words

Open Profile, then Import and export. JSON keeps every detail and can be imported again; CSV is for spreadsheets.

Delete your account

Open Profile and tap Delete account. The account and its copy in the cloud are deleted right away; if you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm and Ordsam ends Sign in with Apple for the app. The words on your iPhone stay until you delete them or the app.
